These two guitars that are underway are for nice dudes I met at this past year's Guitar Foundation of America Convention. Even though these two instruments look the same at first glance they are actually quite different. The bracing pattern is the same but these two instruments will end up being completely different animals. One is a long scale and the other is short with different choices in material stiffness and weight that will shape their sound in different directions.
The one thing that was the biggest help is that I got to meet the customers in person and have them play an instrument I had on hand. When you have a conversation over the phone about tone you're never sure that you are comparing apples to apples but having a conversation while playing a guitar or even a recording is much better.
