ZIRICOTE AND HONDURAN ROSEWOOD GUITARS

Here are some photos of two instruments just finished.  They show some of the different options available.   I feel like I really only offer two models but every guitar turns out different mostly because every customer is too and there really are lots of little details to play with.

The Ziricote guitar started with the Spartan Model aesthetic - no purfling on the back and sides a simple line rosette and a less ornate headstock shape.  It was a good way to make the ziricote the star of the show.  Added to that is black mother of pearl accents in the rosette ring, side fretboard dots, tie block and tuning machine buttons.  Nickel silver frets match the nickel plated machines as well.  It is lacquered on the back and sides and french polished on the top only.   Most of the Spartan models are a matte finish but this guitar got a full gloss on the back and sides.

The Honduran rosewood guitar is the standard concert model I do with a mosaic wave rosette and is completely french polished instead of lacquered on the back and sides.  It has the Jescar EVO gold fretwire to match the gold machine heads.  There is a lot more hand work in the headstock, rosette, mitered purfling lines, etc. The Honduran Rosewood has a nice depth and chatoyance that came out once the finish was put applied.
